Jenny's Prize Winning Quilt
At Strawberry Fayre we are thrilled to bits that Jenny's quilt "Beach Hut Parade" has been chosen to be included in Pam & Nicky Lintott's new book "Jelly Roll Inspirations" published by David & Charles & due out October 2009. The quilt used 2 of our new Charm Rolls to complete: Mediterranean Prints & Mediterranean Plains.
All 12 quilts in the book are chosen winners from the international "Jelly Roll Challenge" & include full instructions on how to make them. Beach Hut Parade will be part of Jenny's solo show in November. See above poster.

New Quilt for the Twins
Jenny & Alec are proud to announce the birth of their son Jamie's twins, Francesca & Laurence born Sept. 11th 2008. Here's a picture of them happily playing on their Charm Pack quilts made by their Mum, Joanna Hutchison.

"Across the Boundaries"
The quilt shown below was made by Jenny Hutchison for The Devon Guild Members' Summer Exhibition. The exhibition's theme is "Boundaries".
Fabrics have always crossed the boundaries of the world. One of the most travelled fabrics is the "Turkey Red". Made in the 1800s near Loch Lomond, the dyers developed a completely fast dye & successfully sold 1000's of yards to really hot sunny countries, Africa & India in particular. This quilt uses fabrics from all over the world, including reproduction Turkey Red. The central panel uses a traditional quilt pattern called "Trip around the World" The quilt is 34" x 40". Machine pieced, hand quilted.
